Slough EFW Short-Listed for Facade Awards

Sustainability Accolade for Slough EFW Project
At the recent Single Ply Roofing Association Awards Luncheon we were delighted to win the Sustainability Award with our Slough EFW Multifuel Powerplant project!
Malcolm Anthony Carter starts MAC Roofing and Contracting Limited (4 staff and 4 x 3 man gangs of roofers).
Most of MAC Roofing’s vehicles were ex-GPO vans purchased at the auctions. On ‘wet weather days’, the MAC Team had to paint the bright yellow vans MAC blue and then sign-write them with a stencil!
MAC Roofing purchases fleet of new Nissan & Daihatsu pick-up trucks.
Roy Cavanagh (Terry & Lee’s Dad) starts working for MAC Roofing.

Lee Cavanagh (Co-Owner) Joins the Business
2002
Lee Cavanagh joins the business at 16, starting out as a roofing apprentice learning different disciplines before joining the Estimating Team where he now heads up the division.
Terry Takes the Helm
2004
Roy Cavanagh unexpectedly passes away, leaving Terry Cavanagh to become Managing Director of MAC Roofing at the age of 22.
Landmark Project Completed
2005
MAC Roofing waterproofs prestigious Budenberg Haus Apartments in Altrincham – the first Foster & Partners project outside of London.
MAC Headquarters Established
2010
MAC Roofing Headquarters moves to a new, purpose-built premises in Bromborough, Wirral.
Les Turnell Joins the MAC Team
2013
Les starts work at MAC Roofing to increase the company’s profile in the new build sector.
MAC Acquires JWD
2016
MAC Roofing acquires JWD Architectural Aluminium, adding a specialist fabrication division to its portfolio.
MAC Expands Operations into the South
2016
Rowan Gutteridge joins as Group Director to establish and develop MACs Southern division and support the sales, bid and marketing team throughout the UK.
MAC Acquires GRS
2019
MAC acquires Graham Roofing (Scotland) Ltd, continuing its regional expansion into Scotland.
From humble beginnings to remaining humble in success – MAC continues to invest and grow into the £50m powerhouse it is today.
